In 2012, Turkey was included in this sub-group—formed by the gathering of IAESTE program member countries run mostly by volunteer students—as an "Associate Member" in 2017 thanks to its student activities. This platform, which aims to increase cooperation and solidarity among students, organizes international meetings twice a year under the name "Central European Convention" and enables students to develop their organizational and social communication skills in addition to the internship exchange program.
