IAESTE (the International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience) was founded in 1948 at Imperial College in London through the initiatives of 10 countries. As an independent and neutral non-profit student exchange organization, IAESTE operates in approximately 80 countries and facilitates the exchange of over 4,000 interns each year. IAESTE A.s.b.l. has a confederation structure consisting of national committees representing the common interests of academia, industry, and university students.
